My dog…Luk Mhen
Luk mhen, when he was you he was the cutest little shitsu/poodle ever. His fluffy clean black and white fur was so adorable and he bounced around the house so happily.
That’s not the same now, not anywhere near the same. Luk mhen is the cheekiest dog you can ever imagine. Its like he chooses who to listen to. When my aunt, uncle, housekeepers or anyone that isn’t me call him he will happily run to them and do as they wish, go into his cage or go eat or whatever. But when I call him, when he has
Run out of the gate and I'm in a hurry to go to work or uni, he will turn around, look right at me and breathe a few times then run off in the other direction. This happens every time. He sometimes runs down the street to the main road and I have to run after him. I tried waiting before and he just doesn’t come back. So it really gets to me, he gets me so worked up and running in the hot Bangkok weather is not fun. Other than this he is one smelly dog, we try to have him bath as often as possible, but as soon as he is brought home, within 10 minutes he is rolling around in a flower bed or jumping into the pond. Once I eventually catch him I have to hold on to him and not let go, otherwise the whole thing starts over. I now keep my car parked outside so I don’t need to open the main gate to leave the house. And when I squeeze myself out everyday I turn around to see luk mhen watching with bated breath as to whether I will slip up and he will have a space to run through my legs and outside.
Other things that he does are pee on my bags, shoes and uni work that I leave unattended for over 1 minute. For example, I’m just leaving the house to go to uni and I brought down a project I have to send, I get to my car and I realize I have forgotten some other work, so I put my work on the table downstairs, in the patio, just for a minute whilst I run up and get my work, by the time I get back there is a yellow wet spot that is trickling down through the table and on to the floor. My grandma also had some bad luck with urine too, she was in her wheelchair in the garden and the housekeeper left her for just a moment to relax in the shade, what does luk mhen do? He runs over and pees on grandma’s foot. I haven’t left any work anywhere other than in my room or in my car since then. Its like he senses or smells what is mine and chooses to pee on that, when its my aunt or uncles bags or work he would never pee on it!!!
There’s more, I like on the second floor in my house and have an outside stairwell to get to my room. Previously all of the dogs at home like to climb upstairs and sit outside my room, this is no problem as they can all go down by themselves, all except luk mhen, I don’t understand why, but he doesn’t know how to go down or if he just wants to annoy me. When he is left alone upstairs he would sit outside my door barking for me to take him downstairs. So, I pick him up and take him downstairs, I come back up and wash my hands and what do I hear? Yes, luk mhen barking outside my door again… try doing this every half hour all through the night and it will drive anyone crazy. The next day I got a blockade to put on my stair well.
I tried telling my aunt what an annoying cheeky dog he is and she never believes me, she said ‘ok, call him now’, so I do, and what does he do? He runs up to me like he’s my best friend and sits on the ground in front of me…
